Characteristics of 3XXX aluminum:
3003, 3004 are AL-Mn series alloys, which are the most widely used rust-proof aluminum. The strength of this alloy is not high (slightly higher than industrial pure aluminum) and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment. Therefore, cold working method is used to improve its mechanics. Performance: High plasticity in the annealed state, good plasticity in semi-cold hardening, low plasticity in cold hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and poor machinability. Uses are mainly used for low-load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability, such as fuel tanks, gasoline or lubricating oil pipes, various liquid containers and other low-load parts made by deep-drawing: The wire is used for rivets.
Characteristics of pure aluminum:
1. Low density: The density of pure aluminum is close to 2700kg / m3, which is about 35% of the density of iron.
2. Strengthenable: Pure aluminum can more than double its strength through cold working. Moreover, it can be alloyed by adding elements such as magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, silicon, lithium, and thallium, and then further strengthened by heat treatment, and its specific strength can be comparable to high-quality alloy steel.
3. Easy to process: Aluminum is cast by any casting method. Aluminum has good plasticity, which can be rolled into thin sheets and foils; drawn into pipes and filaments; extruded into various civilian profiles; and can be turned, milled, bored, planed and other mechanical processing at the maximum speed that most machines can achieve.
4. Corrosion resistance: The surface of aluminum and its alloys is easy to form a dense and strong Al2O3 protective film. This protective film will only be damaged by the intense action of halogen ions or alkali ions. Therefore, aluminum has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion (including industrial atmosphere and marine vapor) and water corrosion. It can resist the corrosion of most acids and organics. It adopts corrosion inhibitor to resist weak alkali corrosion. The protective measures can improve the corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy.
